Jason
Cooper King
Jason Cooper King, 40, was born
and resides in scenic upstate New York just outside of Syracuse.
Showing an early aptitude for painting and drawing, he focused
on the development of these skills through grade school and
high school.
In 1985 Jason attended the first
of four years at Syracuse University’s College of Visual
and Performing Arts, where he graduated cum laude with a painting
major in 1989.
Jason has had showings in Vermont,
Massachusetts, The New York States Fair, his hometown of Marcellus
and at his representative’s gallery, The Lucas Gallery
in Skaneateles, New York and The Bundy Art & Victorian Museum
, Binghamton, New York where is will be showing from December
7th till December 31st.
When not preparing for a show,
Jason keeps himself busy executing commissions. There are almost
always portraiture in acrylics that convey a narrative. Jason
creates a universal sense of nostalgia by working from old photographs
and slides of rural America from the first half of the twentieth
century.
