Jason Cooper King

Jason Cooper King, 40, was born and resides in scenic upstate New York just outside of Syracuse. Showing an early aptitude for painting and drawing, he focused on the development of these skills through grade school and high school.

In 1985 Jason attended the first of four years at Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, where he graduated cum laude with a painting major in 1989.

Jason has had showings in Vermont, Massachusetts, The New York States Fair, his hometown of Marcellus and at his representative’s gallery, The Lucas Gallery in Skaneateles, New York and The Bundy Art & Victorian Museum , Binghamton, New York where is will be showing from December 7th till December 31st.

When not preparing for a show, Jason keeps himself busy executing commissions. There are almost always portraiture in acrylics that convey a narrative. Jason creates a universal sense of nostalgia by working from old photographs and slides of rural America from the first half of the twentieth century.
