Pieces: Joan Deuel
Building on the rich traditions of quilting I create structures that
use bold color to claim a space. I want the
work to initiate a
conversation with the viewer. Stitches carry information from one
layer to another.
These stitched lines reflect the history of
each line that came before, just as conversations echo, and
move on.
The process of my work reflects the experience of discovering a depth
of
understanding through time and attention.
