Harlow E. Bundy Bio:

  • Born Feb. 5, 1856 in Auburn, NY
  • Attended Hamilton College class of 1877
  • Married Julia Ford on June 14, 1882
  • Established Bundy Manufacturing Company in 1889 in Binghamton, NY
  • 1892-93, became official time Keeper for employess of the Columbian expedition in Chicago.
  • Merged Bundy Manufacturing Company with another time recording company and became International Time Recording Company in 1900 and moved to Endicott.
  • In 1911, merged with other companies and became the Computing-Tabulating -Recording Company.
  • Named Thomas J. Watson general manager in 1914 -- who later in 1924 renamed the company International Business Machines (IBM).
  • Retired in 1915.
  • Fathered 3 children: Helen Fairchild, Bruce Ford, & Margaret Bundy
  • Died March 21, 1916 a year after moving to Pasedena, CA.
